Fields not being populated for WO generated from Plan

I have been asked by one of the functional team to debug why when work orders are created via plans “Location” and “Cost Center” data are not getting populated correctly.

I can't currently find anything and suspect this is a config issue.

Maint Plan

Work Order

Steps I have been given to replicate the issue are quite straight forward, even an ABAPer such as myself can follow them.

Schedule a plan (create a wok order via a plan)

  • Goto IP10
  • Enter plan number (already created and kindly provided my Functional team)
  • Select a line from Scheduling list and release call
  • Save

To view work

  • Goto IP10
  • Select a line from Scheduling list and release call
  • Click Display call object

One thing I have noticed when debugging is that table ILOA does not have cost center or location fields populated. If I populate them while in debug the location data sticks but the cost center throws an error; "Cost centre XYZ/1234 does not exist".

Any knowledgeable explanations as to what is the cause are most welcome.

Are you using any developments in the order creation/save process?

Also check if the data is consistent between the maintenance item and equipment (or Floc depending on what's entered in the order header).

Try creating an order manually via IW31 using the same equipment/floc to see what happens.

We could not determine the cause of the issue, so a support request was been raised with SAP

    • Hello Julian,

It nice on your part to give feedback which is expected to continue until the issue resolution. With your step of going to OSS, it is assumed that you have checked all angles, including the above suggested. One thing I am yet understand is, why we are unable to pinpoint the reason through debugging ?

      Good luck
