Customs shipment(import) not creating despite adding the preliminary document in inbound delivery

Hello All,

We are facing an issue with the customs shipment not getting created at the import side despite adding the preliminary document (T1) in the inbound delivery in feeder system.

This prevents us from not been able to close the transit procedure and subsequently the documents are not appearing in the ‘worklist after GR’ to do the import declaration.

Checked configuration related to preliminary doc type set up in GTS and they all look fine.

It was working fine until last week and we are not sure how to figure out or trace what changes been made to the system that is causing an issue with the customs shipment not getting created all of a sudden.

Any help to figure out the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Suresh.

Hi Suresh,

That's rather a big haystack in which to find the needle!

Why don't you know what changes have been made in the system?  And what about the Test system - is the process still working there? - if so, just compare the settings.

Can't you ask whoever set it up originally, to set it up again?  Alternatively, follow the steps in the GTS Configuration Guide.

If you have a developer, or you have developer skills yourself, debug in Function Module /SAPSLL/CD_MM0B_R3 to see what's going on there.

Dave

Thanks Dave.

We are working out some scenarios on the standard IDES-GTS system and we don't have any test system to compare the settings.

I have also noticed that even after doing PGR the document still appear in the worklist prior to GR.

This was not the case before when we do the PGR the document will not appear in this worklist.

When i try to do the customs declaration from that it says that the preliminary document has already been updated and it is not possible to do the customs declaration. That tells me that somehow the system recognize that the preliminary document has already been added in the IBD in feeder system.

Should there be something that prevents customs shipment not be created at the import side?

Thanks,

Suresh.

Hi Suresh,

Something sounds wrong here.  The creation of a Customs Shipment for Transit, and Declaration before GR are mutually-exclusive in the system.  If you are finding the Inbound Delivery in the "before GR" work-list, then that implies that you have set that flag for the Delivery Type in the Plug-In configuration.

If that's the case, then clear that check-box and your preliminary document should then work properly for Transit.
