Hello,
we want to upograde from SAP GUI for Windows 7.30 to Version 7.40.
How do you say is the Best Practice?
I just want to upgrade my 7.30 SAP Installation Server to 7.40 and my clients get the new SAP GUI 7.40 from there, but my Settings from 7.30 like
- Sound OFF
- ConfigFileOnServer
are lost.
I also found out, that it does not install new contents of my package. For example Interactive Excel is in 7.40 not in R/3 Addons, now it is an own component and this is not installed, when the client is only updatet by the SAP Installation server.
My way is to use an "thirdparty" Tool for Software Deployment and
-first: uninstall SAP GUI 7.30
-second: Install Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office 2010 (VSTO) --> is needed for Interactive Excel
-third: install SAP GUI 7.40
Do you have any advices for me?
Is the way with a thirdparty tool for SW Deployment the right and only way for about 1100 clients?
Or do I something wrong?
Thanks for help and advices.
BR, David
