Unable to access SBO-Common database since upgrade to PL08 9.1

I have a DI API addon that worked perfectly on 9.1 PL 06 ( sql server )

since upgdring to PL08 the DI connection fails with the
following message

error no -111 Unable to access SBO-Common database

no parameters have changed since PL06

Looks like a bug - but need to resolve soon.

a workaround for now could help

any help is appreciated !
