MRP RUN no PR created for dependent requirement

Hi.

We are actually having some issue on the MRP run for some materials. Everyday MRP is run by a job (see attached details about criteria of MRP run) and converts the requirements created for the component of the finished goods into a purchase requisition.

However, in some cases no purchase requisition is created for the component although we do have dependent requirements. We have checked sap note 371016 and it seems that no PR is being created as there is no planning file entry. We also know that we can correct the file entry by using transaction MD20 or MDAB.

What we need to know is why the planning file was not checked.

Could you please advise?

Thanks and regards,

    HI Azhar,

First of all you have to understand the MRP Functionality i.e. while run the MRP system will explode the FG BOM and generate the dependent requirements for child components i.e. PR and Planned orders based on the procurement type defined in Material master

system will not generate the proposals if the below conditions exist in the system:

1.Any stocks / open MRP Results(Open PR / PO / Planned orders / Production orders) exist for the same material then system will consider that and it will generate the proposals for remaining quantity. you can check in MD04

    2. If child component BOM is not valid as per the lead time (check in CS03)

    3. Improper maintenance of master data (MRP Views)

please check the above points and let us know

    Regards,

    Venkatesh
