Advanced Search - Approved by Me - Shopping Cart - Perfomance

Hello experts,

I'm looking for SAP recommendations when it comes to the performance of Advanced Search in portal.

For example if with a very active user I go and search with the criteria Role: Approved by Me I get a timeout. If I set the criteria for 6 months only then the results appear. (Another user gets a timeout for 6 months also)

So my question here is where I can find some information on the performance of this SRM functionality.

As you can imagine as a user I want all the results displayed and I want them fast. As a consultant I understand that this is not always the case. But I'm not sure where to find information on this.

Thanks!

Cata

Hi Cata,

Have you come across note 970414 - BBPSC04: Timeout when searching by role? This note explains how to make searching with the role "Approved by me" quicker by creating a new index on the table SWWWIHEAD. Hopefully this can help you improve this functionality but if you are still having trouble let us know and we can continue helping you.

Hello Alan,

Thanks for this. It looks helpful and I'm testing it right now. One mention though, I think the SAP note number is 970415 (thanks for including the name, it was how I found the number).

I'll keep you posted.

One general question though: is there any special way to search for this notes? Or is it symptomatic search only?

Hi Cata,

Sorry about that, I mistyped the number, I'm glad you could still find the note.

When I searched for this I used the term "Approved by me" and that note was one of the results. If you are interested we have a KBA which can help you search our knowledgebase better, 2081285 - How to get the best results from an SAP search?

Hope this helps you.

Regards,

Alan

Dear Cata,

advanced search performance highly depends on the proper usage of index tables. Make sure that the index tables are activated and used properly.  Note 1760936 describes how can you check index tables status. If the tables are active you can make sure via debugging that the indexes are used during advance search. You will find the details about the debugging steps in Note 1863318.

If the index table are not active you can active it according note 856803.
