Customer-Material info record "Short text" flows to sales order line item text

Hello,

I am facing a case that is explained below. Kindly share your views.

In the Customer-material info record, short text(Description) is maintained with some text.  Now in sales order for the same combination of customer and material is entered, short text is pulled from "Customer-material info record" but not from "Material master". To print some thing on the smartforms i am maintaining records in the info record short text. Is there any configuration settings to make "material master short text " as default. Please suggest me.

Thank you for your inputs.

Instead of maintaining Short text, maintaining info record long text and through text determination it can be pulled to Sales order. This would be my alternative way to achieve the things. But i am searching for any possible way to control the system behavior by making  material master short text(description) as default to flow to SO line item description.

Dear Prabhu,

In VD51,instead of short text field use the long text field to maintain the info record specific text.By doing this material master description will follow in to the sale order.

However,info record specific text which is available VD52 will also be available at SO item level.Check the Text tab at item level of the SO.

Hi,

run tcode VOTXN and check sequence access defined for sales document item.

here KNMT should be last one... or even if you don´t want it in sales order, delete entry

Thank you for your reply. My query is different let me elaborate with more clarity.

First screen shot is material description from material master.

Now for the below combination i have maintained Cust-material info record with Short text.

Below is the screen shot of sales order line item. I entered the material for which Info record is maintained. Here description is pulled from info record but not from material master..

Is there any Solution for this ??

i would suggest using info customer material record text instead of material description for your purpose.
