SAP Data panel is not active after implement OSS note 1777018

Hi All

I have implemented OSS note 1777018 - Office Integration - MS Word 2007/2010 with Content Controls.

When I created the new template, a blank MS word is opened up, but SAP data panel is not active.

There is no SAP data Structure displayed on the right hand side.

Anyone know how to fix this issue.

Thanks

Nattawat

For Supported Office programs, refer to note

Microsoft Office 365 Online (only in a browser)

If your Office 365 license plan includes only Microsoft Office Online, you can work only with the online versions of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.

These versions run in your browser and have restricted functions compared to locally installed versions of Office that are contained in your Office 365 license agreement (MSI or Click-To-Run). Below is a (non-exhaustive) list of these restrictions:

Since Desktop Office Integration makes extensive use of the above features, it cannot support Office 365 Online. Moreover, it is not possible to use the functions elsewhere. For this reason, it will not be possible to release Desktop Office Integration for Office 365 Online. However, you can use Office 365 ProPlus or another released Office product (see below).Office 365 ProPlus (complete client installation)If your Office 365 license includes Office 365 ProPlus, you can carry out a complete installation of Office 2013 on your client hosts. The current versions of this variant of Office 365 have been successfully tested with Desktop Office Integration by SAP and are supported (for the prerequisites, see the information on Office 2013 in this SAP Note). There are two versions of the complete client installation:

  • Native installation using .msi
  • Installation via "Click2Run" (based on application virtualization)

SAP supports Desktop Office Integration for both of these variants; however, for the Click2Run version, you must bear in mind that - depending on your settings - it might be automatically upgraded to a new Office release that is not yet supported by SAP. You can identify new Office releases (not the monthly updates) based on the technical version of Office. Office is currently based on version 15.X.XXXX.XXXX. Office versions that start with a higher number than 15 would indicate a major update to a new release. In this case, you should check this SAP Note to find out whether Desktop Office Integration has already been released for the target Office release.

SAP participates in the Developer Preview Program from Microsoft and has access to beta versions of new office packages through this program. It is therefore possible to release the DOI for new Office versions in a timely manner, unless Microsoft makes significant, imcompatible changes to new Office versions. These releases will be documented in this SAP Note. If you want to be informed automatically about new releases or problems with a new version of Office, you can subscribe to the following thread on SAP Community Network: http://scn.sap.com/thread/449137

Furthermore, in the Office blog http://blogs.office.com/, Microsoft offers additional information, including announcements about new versions.

Hi Marco

After the re implement the OSS not 1777018 and install SAP panel.

I have able to get the SAP Panel active when I create the new word template but when I edit the existing one the SAP panel is not active.

But the issue is still on, after press save to the new word template, the upload is failed, unable to save back to server, the message in CRM said about the Active X control is disable.

I have raised the incident to SAP, still not get it to resolve.

We have just upgraded to office 365 in our environment.
