Dynamic rearrangement of components in Design studio1.4

Hello,

I have a dashboard designed in Design studio1.4 with say 6 different components(each coming from different datasource) mapped to 6 tiles, and authorizations for these datasources are controlled at BW level.

I have a group of users who should see only 2 components which are actually mapped to 5th & 6th tile of the template. But when these users open the application, could it be possible that it would dynamically rearrange those two components to 1st & 2nd tile of the template?

Please help here

Thanks,

Vishal.

    Hi Vishal,

You could check to see if the result set for the data source associated with a tile is not empty and if so re-position the tile using the setMargin methods for the component via scripting.

    • Hi Vishal,

I think in your scenario checking the role itself is not really relevant for displaying the chart panels. If I understand the scenario, it should be sufficient to display only the charts for which the data source returns data (which in turn is influenced by the assigned roles). Therefore, why don't you simply check each of the six data sources to confirm which ones have actually returned data (via isResultSetEmpty()) and display only the panels that have data? This would avoid any duplication due to role overlaps.

      Regards,

      Mustafa.
