Configure CA Introscope - HOSTs Not Connecting

HI Folks,

I need some advise. Not sure where or what i have done wrong.

Solution Manager 7.1

SOLMAN_SETUP > Basic Configuration > STEP 3: Configure CA Introscope

Installed Diagnostic Agents, Host Agent, Wily Introscope 9.1.5 with Management Modules on ALL Servers.

As you can see from my screenshot below only Solution Manager (The First System that i "Discovered") is showing as Status: Connected.

Non of the other systems are connecting.

I Selected each server > User Management and inserted the user passwords (guest:guest12,Admin:Admin89) and clicked OK.

Waited, refreshed, waited some more, and still nothing.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Regards,

Johann

    Hi Johann,

Kindly paste the logs of EnterpriseIntroscope.log file from the server1,server2,3,4.

Check the status of the Enterprise manager by firing the command

    ./EMCtrl -status

If the eneterprise manager is stop , then start the enterprise manager.

    With Regards

    Hello Johann,

I could see you are already aware of Enterprise Manager version 9.1.5.0 is not supported for SP04.

( if you have already updated LM_Service to Sp12)

Please start with following SAP note:-

1900777 - Basic Configuration - Enterprise Manager shows error 'Cannot Retrieved Status'

1868086 - Solution Manager support for Introscope 9.1.5

    1565954 - Introscope 9 Release Notes

    Regards

    Hi,

I should have perhaps stated that the image above

    Server 1-3 :

    • Instance 1 - ABAP ERP6.0 740 SP9
    • Instance 2 - JAVA 7.02 SP3

    Server 4:

    • Instance 1 - SAP EP 740 SP8

    Server 5:

    • Solution Manager 7.1 SP13

As you can see from the screenshot Server 5 is Connected. So solution Manager is not the problem.

Something i did not take in consideration is the satellite servers (1-4) versions. I know Wily EM has minimum version requirements.

From what i can tell it mostly looks at the LM-SERVICE Component (Only available on Java) So how do you setup a pure a abap system? not that that is my question but it got me thinking about what the requirement where for you satalite systems.

    1) Is it perhaps because i installed WILY EM 9.1.5 on all of them. Should the Satalite systems have gotten a different type of Wily installation? like Collectors? If yes, could you please provide me with details on installation and requirements. I did not find any info on this and as a result went with Wily EM.

    2) Not sure what log files i should be looking at for errors?

Also forgot to mention previously: I forgot to add the Diagnost Agent users to apmintroscope & ../config directories. After doing so i did user management and all servers connected but only for like 10sec.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Johann

    • Hi Ashutosh,

Thank you for that. I figured as much.

You do not perhaps have documentation or notes that i can use for setting up Wily EM on Solman and to Deploy the Agent to all managed systems.

I will start by uninstalling Wily EM from all Satellite Systems.

      Thank you,

      Johann
