Alerts not getting triggered for synchronous interface in single statck PI 7.4

Hello Experts,

We got  synchronous error messages in single stack PI, version 7.4.

We have set up alerts for this scenario. Earlier we used to get alerts for the same, but today though messages are in canceled status, we didn`t get any alerts for this.

Could you please tell me the reason behind this & solution to avoid this issue?

Thanks in advance !!!

Best Regards,

Swanand

Hi Swanand,

Does this issue occurring for asynchronous interfaces also?

Also check in log viewer whether alertconsumer job if you have scheduled to trigger alerts accordingly incase of any failures.

from PI main page navigate to NWA-->TroubleShooting-->Log and Traces-->Log viewer

Check whether the job is running successfully or not as per the fequency.

My guess would be the job might not have ran when the message has failed.

Check this out.

Hi Vishnu,

Yes, this issue occurs for asynchronous interface also. From yesterday, we didn`t receive any single alert though there are few synchronous messages in canceled status.

I didnt find any job named 'alertconsumer' in log viewer.

Hi Swanand,

Please go to NWA->Operations->Java Scheduler ->Jobs.

Please check the job you scheduled in NWA is triggering or not.

Please check below screenshot.

Hi Swanand,

There should be a scheduled job which runs at regular intervals and trigger the alerts for the interfaces accordingly.

Can you check which configuration has done for alerts in your PI system and let us know.

If it is through Alert consumer job, then I guess the issue could be that the job is not running due to which the alerts are not getting triggered.

If this is the issue, then please go to NWA-->Configuration-->Infrastructure-->Java system properties and go to Tasks tab, select the Alert consumer job relevant task, click on hold and release. Now the job runs at the configured frequency in the system which you can check in the log viewer.

Hello Salhithi,

Thanks for reply.

Can you please let me know about which cache you are talking about? PI cache or Solman cache ?
