Dear All,

For some standard condition table like Tax Classification - A003, the validity period is not maintained.

Is there any specific reason for not maintaining validity period in condition tables.?

Can the validity period can be added manually / copied and created.?

Regards,

We had a kind of same discussion last month,

Though purpose is different, but answer is same. The field KSDAT in table T681 indicates that it is with validity period or not.

It can't be added manually because this condition table is designed without validity period.

Dear Mr.Dibyendu Patra,

Thanks for your feedback. I could find the tables for which the validity is not defined from field KSDAT in table T681.

Is there any specific reason for not maintaining validity period in condition tables.? Also, how can we add validity period can be manually / copied and created.? What are all the risk involved in doing so.?

Hi,

In standard, you have multiple options for tax table. A003 table have few limitation but you can use other tables for example A363,A354 and A359.

OR

Better create new tax table for your requirement.

Actually SAP made this condition table (003) without validity period.

That's because it hasn't any validity period.

Its a standard condition table created by SAP, hence you can't change it.

If required, then you can create custom condition table (with same fields) with validity period. At the time creation, there is an option to choose the same :

Dear Biju,

If we create new tax table for what are all the possible risk involved? Could you predict any issues in doing so.?

Hi,

You need to consider this is  mini project for possible risk involved and resolution for it. The nearly possible tasks are:

1. Create a new tax table for your requirement

2. Create new access sequence and assign new tax table

3. Assign new access sequence to all tax condition types associated with taxation.

4. Update the corresponding  change for all tax condition types in your Tax procedure.

5. Check tax code or create new tax code

6. Create new condition record for tax code with validity period for tax rate with tax condition type

Before applying the above changes, you  need to identify all historical transaction data and post all according business.

You can go for above changes- if business is very much agree and adopt to change for having validity period of tax code with tax condition type.
