Accessing BW workbook

Hi all,

I have a user that was deleted from BW, and I cannot find any of its favorites in table SMEN_BUFFC.

But I do find a workbook that was created by that user in Metadata repository.

I cannot access the workbook as it was most probably saved in the users favorites menu and was deleted when the user was deleted.

Any Idea on how to access it?

Hi Shlomi Weiss,

If you can see workbook in Metadata, you can assign it to role and use it.

Create a role (e.g. ZWORKBOOKS) as below

Z_WORKBOOKS Display Work Books

  Standard Cross-application Authorization Objects AAAB

  Standard Transaction Code Check at Transaction Start S_TCODE

  Standard Transaction Code Check at Transaction Start T-BD87006000

  Transaction Code RRMX TCD

  Manually Basis: Administration BC_A

  Manually Authorization for GUI activities S_GUI

  Manually Authorization for GUI activities T-BD87006000

  Activity 60 ACTVT

  Manually Business Information Warehouse RS

  Manually Business Explorer - Individual Tools S_RS_TOOLS

  Manually Business Explorer - Individual Tools T-BD87006000

  Logical command name THEMES COMMAND

Goto Menu Tab

-press button Add Report

-select BW report

-type in technical ID of workbook

-confirm

-if desired change decription of object with context menu

-save & generate the role

Assign this role to the respective user/s.

Assuming user has access to the queries which are used in Workbook.
