Experts,

We had a major PROD issue with one of our clients this morning and we were forced to restore the CMS & FRS from last nights Tape.  the problem is now all SERVERS in the SIA are NOT starting.   I made sure the FRS folder was renamed and also tried checking the SCN.

I found discuss thread # 16182013 but none of the links work in the answers.

Please help.

Gavin,

Does you back-up process also back-up anything within the DATA folder as well.  You may issues with Explorer Index and Trending DB used by monitoring.

I also tried

NON of the links work.

Is the backup at same TIMESTAMP.  This is very important.

Ajay,

We have NT Script that Stops the SIA and then does back-up of CMS & Audit database.  Before the SIA starts we also do full back of the FRS folder.

Let me know if I am missing anything.

Gavin,

Let me know if link to document was helpful in resolving your issue.

Keep in mind that your back-up process should also include the:

  • D:\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\Polestar
  • D:\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\TrendingDB

Couple of other articles to look into.

Ajay,

I will have the Basic team add the POLESTAR folder, it will save us time on re-indexing.

Hi Gavin,

Were you able to restore CMS DB and FRS successfully. You may need to recreate the SIA with default services.

Thanks

if it is production issue, you should open very high ticket with SAP support.

Wihout seeing the other details, it is very difficult to answer your question.
