Dear Experts

Please help to advice me about  error duing perform backflush.

Message Detail :

Existing standard cost estimate cannot be used

Message no. RM175

Diagnosis

This error appears under the following circumstances:

  • The existing standard cost estimate cannot be used for backflushing activities as the repetitive manufacturing profile was not maintained correctly when the standard cost estimate was carried out.
  • The standard cost estimate must come from product costing. Other cost estimates (such as base object controlling) are not possible.

Procedure

The repetitive manufacturing profile assigned to the material at the time of the planned cost estimate must be a profile for repetitive manufacturing with product cost collector.

Use product costing to create the standard cost estimate.

Hello

Try one of the following suggestions:

  • Suggestion 1: It is not possible to release cost estimates for the same material in the same period. In order to create another standard cost estimate you can use TR MR21. Configuration settings in TR OKZZ control the message for manual creation of a new standard cost estimate in the same period. Be aware that if you change the standard price with this transaction, you will have no cost itemization and things like variance calculation will not work with the whole functionality. If you delete the old cost estimate, you have to reorganize the cost estimates via costing/reorganization/settings/control parameter current std cost estimates.
  • Suggestion 2: The problem you are facing could result from the existing standard cost estimate. If you want to delete this estimate, follow this procedure: Logistics->Product Cost Planning->Tools->Material Costing->Delete ->Online, or transaction CKR1. Here you can define the parameters and reorganize your product costing. Also, see the help documentation in: CO Product Cost Planning ->Cost Estimate with Quantity Structure ->Deleting Material Cost Estimates ->Deleting Material Cost Estimates from the Database
  • Suggestion 3: The existing standard cost estimate cannot be used for backflushing activities as the repetitive manufacturing profile was not maintained correctly when the standard cost estimate was carried out. The standard cost estimate must come from product costing. Other cost estimates (such as base object controlling) are not possible. Procedure: The repetitive manufacturing profile assigned to the material at the time of the planned cost estimate must be a profile for repetitive manufacturing with product cost collector.
  • Suggestion 4: Another cause of the problem might be the activity cost in the repetitive manufacturing profile:

     1. Find the Repetitive Profile via the material master.

     2. Look up the Repetitive Profile in the IMG using the following path:

        Production->Repetitive Manufacturing->Backflushing->Specify Control

        Data for Repetitive Manufacturing->Display Profile "xxx"

     3. Look up routing operation to determine activity using the following path:

        Production->Master Data->Routings->Routings->Rate Routings->

        Display->Display Material and Plant and then click on Operation.

     4. Look up activity cost using following path:

        Controlling->Cost Centers->Planning->Activities/Prices->Display

  • Suggestion 5: Backflush of activities is always according to a copy of the routing which is created by the cost estimate. So at the time of backflush with activities the system looks fora preliminary or standard cost estimate (depending on the setting in the repetitive profile). If a valid cost estimate is found, the system then looks for the copied routing connected to this cost estimate. The connection is:cost estimate: KEKO-AUFPL -> copied routing data: AFVC-AUFPL, AFVV-AUFPL, AFFL-AUFPL. Where KEKO-AUFPL is initial or there is no entry for KEKO-AUFPL in AFVC etc., message RM 175 (or RU 008) is displayed. The program doesn't care if the original routing, from which the cost estimate copy was created, is a normal routing or a rate routing. The decision which routing is copied by the cost estimate is made by the selection ID of the costing variant (TR OKKN). If you don't wan't to backflush activities and if you want to avoid the validation of KEKO-AUFPL against AF**-AUFPL and RM 175, you have to choose a repetitive profile with the option 'backflush activities' switched off. If you want to backflush activities, you need to recreate the cost estimate with activity and release it.
