Problem with uploading Task List long text with direct input method

Hi All ,

When I am trying to upload long text of the  GENERAL TASK LIST at header level system is replacing short text also.

For Example my short Text description is :  " This is short Text"

Long Text is " This is long text of Task List"

My File format for long text is :

TXPARGRAPH                  TXLINE

*                                      This is long text of Task List

I am having link field with the header file also. Those are working fine. but on executing system is writing long text but it also replaces the short text.

I have already gone through many links over the internet but found nothing.

Please help

If you use SAP LSMW IBIP program to upload the task list : check this post which has LSMW long text Exemple attached

Or you can try this  method

Hi Ziv ,

Thank you for your response. The example link was quite helpful. That example is working fine and uploading LT. But I have checked that LSMW project. It contains Single Link field between operation and Operation Long Text.

But in my project , I am using 3 Link fields :

1. INDENT1   ( its also present in TL header , Operation and Operation Long Text files)

2. PLNAL ( its also present in TL header , Operation files & Operation Long Text Files )

3. VORNR ( its present in Operation  and Operation Long Text File only )

I am creating TL with different counters within same group also.

Can you pls share what could be the reason.

Hello,

It is a known issue and discussed several times. I do not remember any solution reached ever. But it seems to me, we can add the short text in the beginning of these longtexts. (if it makes sense to your situation)

Pre-fixing short text to long text will allow me to have a text with max 72 characters but I want to have multiple lines and not just a single line in long text field .

It seems some communication gap. The first sentence of your post tells that you are able to upload Longtext but that replaces the short text. I am simply suggesting to put that replaced text in the beginning of the Longtext and upload.

If your short text is  'This is short text'  and your longtext is 'This is lontext1, This is lontext2, This is lontext3,.....' What I am suggesting is combine both to upload as longtext. like 'This is short text This is lontext1, This is lontext2, This is lontext3,.....'. Because the Operation shorttext is a part of Longtext.

Ignore if this is still not relevant to your issue.
