Dear experts,

i don't know if my tenant is not working properly or what, but when i try to use the "Derive territory" action inside an Account or Individual Customer, it does not work or do anything.

I was trying to use this function in order to understand it since it is not explained in any c4c guide and the help center does not work.

Thanks in advance

Hello Gabriele,

For instance you created a realignment run but the New Territory column is empty for some accounts and you are missing other account by following the below steps.

Go to the Sales work center.

Select the Realignment Runs View.

Select the realignment run ABC (ABC represents the ID of the run).

Open the realignment run by clicking on the ABC hyperlink.

Select the Details tab.

In the section Accounts, account XYZ has no value in the New Territory column and account EFG is missing (XYZ and EFG represent the name of the account).

It could be that You activated the scoping question: Do you want realignment runs to remove territory assignments for accounts that, based on current rules, qualify for no territories?

If this scoping question was activated in the system, there are two aspects which need to be taken in to consideration in regards to the system behavior:
1. The system will not include accounts in the delta which already match the territory which supposed to be determined according to the rules in the realignment run.
Since account EFG is already assigned to that territory it will not show up in the delta at all.

2. If an account that does not match any of the criteria in the rule for the territory assignment it will include it in the delta and remove the current territory and not enter any territory at all (since there is no rule for determining it).
Since account ABC is selected in the delta for the realignment run an has no value in the New Territory column as it does not satisfy the defined rules and thus its new territory should be blank and the current territory should be removed.

To resolve this issue you can try following the below steps:

This is the expected system behavior.

The scoping question can be found as follows:

Go to the Business Configuration work center.
Select the Implementation Projects view.
Select your implementation project.
Click on the Edit Project Scope button.
Navigate to step 4 Questions.
Select the scoping element Sales -> Account and Activity Management -> Territory Management
The following scoping question has been activated:
Do you want realignment runs to remove territory assignments for accounts that, based on current rules, qualify for no territories?

See if this solves the issue.

Hello Gabriele,

You would have to set realignments rules. You can check the help center document "Realignment of Accounts and Territories" or you can check the video Setting Up Sales Territories - YouTube for more details.

You need to set realignment rules. Then this will work. Check that out in the admin and user guide.

Yes, it uses the realignment rules and sets the territory as is determined by those rules. Please recheck  the rules once....
