Barcode Label Printing

Former Member

Hi all

We're looking at producing barcode labels for products from within SAP. Our resellers have told us to use Crystal Reports by designing a label within Crystal and then defining parameters but to me this seems a little clumsy. Does anyone know of any good add-ons for SAP B1 for printing barcode labels seamlessly? For instance, we want to just enter item code, select label type, enter qty, press print. Even better would be the facility to print straight from the Goods Receipt screen. What do others use for this kind of task?

Thanks

W.

It seems u are looking for a general barcode label print. You can try to Label Matrix.

But if u want to integrate with SAP, crystal report is definitely the way to go. Tell us your requirement, what type of barcode you want to support?

Hi

Thanks for replying. We already have the barcode fonts installed in Crystal, we would probably use Code 128.

If we used Crystal, how would we make this seamless? For instance, when we raise a goods receipt we want to be able to just press a button and the labels print out. The actual design of the labels isn't a problem, it's more the parameters around the printing of them. Any advice would be appreciated.

Are you able to preview your crystal report correctly in SAP? if so, then just set it as default layout for those users, then it become one button click.

Hi Frank

Thanks. I will probably put this in place and it will definitely help, however it's still not quite what we're looking for as we will still have to a) enter the item code and b) enter the quantity of labels we require. Ideally I want this to be picked up automatically from the goods receipt screen.

It is not hard to write a crystal report to grab item and qty from Good receipts.
