Merging Date Dimensions from Excel Data Source - Not Possible?

Former Member

Hi,

I am have two dimensions of dates imported from excel. I want to merge these dates together to create a superset, but I sap webi is not allowing me to merge them (cannot click OK in merge dimensions dialogue box). The sets of data seem to meet the requirements for merging (both are same formats). Why might I not be able to merge them?

I tried using ForceMerge to no avail (I do not know how exactly it works).

Specifically this is what I'm doing:

I have the dates of when two pairs of shoes, A and B, have been sold. I want to graph the number sold per month. So if 1 pair of shoe A was sold 30/1/2015 and another 31/1/2015, I will graph "2" (y-axis) in my January 2015 bin (x-axis). Therefore, I must create my x-axis range from a merge of shoe A and shoe B's sale dates.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Using sap webi service pack 5 patch 5.

Hi,

You can not merge two objects from same query.Objects should be from different queries.

in this case you can  create one more webi query on same excel and  then merge the dates from one query and other query.

Hi,

These two dates are from two separate webi queries?

If yes then what is the data type of these dates? Check the data type of dates in the Webi queries ->Object properties.

Same excel file - same query

Both objects same data type: Dimension>Date.
