Capacity-wise Quota arrangement?

Hi,

Is it possible to define quotas based on work center capacities? As in, when I execute MRP, the MRP makes planned orders for material A on machine A until its capacity is reached and then move on to machine B? There are different routings for different work centers, hence different production versions.

OR...

Is there any way I can get planned orders made according to the capacities of the work centers in the production versions, automatically, after I execute MRP?

Hello,

This is not possible in standard SAP R/3, as MRP does not consider the existing capacity load on work center to do the finite scheduling. ECC-R/3 is not capable of selecting production versions based on availability of capacity.

In ECC you have to do the capacity leveling through CM25 or CM40 for all these orders there you have option to change the production version.

The advance planning tool like APO APO that might be able to satisfy your requirement, by combining Rules Based ATP and production planning..

Ok, even after MRP, let's say against a PIR of 5000 for the month of august, a planned order of 5000 is created on 1st august. Is there a way I can use MF50 planning table to distribute the 5000 planned order over the rest of the days according to the work center capacity? Like:

let's say the capacity of the work center is 300 per day, can I divide 5000 over the next 16 days automatically after the MRP? Like how I select a planned order and click "distribute along time axis" and it gets distributed according to the 300 per day capacity rather than equally dividing 5000 over 15 days?

Hello,

Yes you can do this in OSP4 for maintaining the distribution for planning the distribution

In MF50 select  Period =  Day in "Additional selection section"-- select Prod Line -- Select planned order in planning table --Quantity change --Distribute to daily rate -- per order & save

Please refer these useful links,

in OSP4, which distib. should I select in order for the large planned order to be broken down according to production line capacity?

let's say if I have a planned order for 5000 and the line capacity per day is 1000 I select 2 day, it should only plan 2000 and leave the rest of 3000 somehow, not go beyond 1000 per day.

Hi,

Thanks for the help. But this feature is breaking the planned order into the selected days evenly without considering the capacity of the work centers. I want to select the planned order, select the number of days (horizontal) and the work centers (lines, columns) and when I break, system should schedule according to the machine's capacity on each day and what ever exceeds the amount should be left in the big planned order.

Is that Possible?

Hello

No, this is not possible on MRP.

MRP does not consider the work center capacity as a restriction during the execution and, as already mentioned by Rupesh, you must run capacity leveling after the MRP run.

Please observe that, on the capacity leveling strategy profile, there is an option to change the production version in case of an overload and I believe that this option will be useful to you.
