Check credential part, also please check the below thread & Note.

Cannot connect to OLAP Source | SCN

2138401 - Error: Request Processing Failed (XLS 000009) Cannot Connect to OLAP Source

Symptom

 • When connecting to BEx query from Dashboard through OLAP Connection, an error occurs - "Request processing failed. (XLS 000009) Cannot connect to the OLAP source"
 • BW entitlement account in CMC > authentication > SAP becomes locked out if you attempt multiple refreshes
 • Fiddler log show error message -Caused by: com.businessobjects.mds.olap.protocol.sap.jco.JCOException: com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (103) JCO_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon) on <IP or Servername> sysnr 01
 • When creating new query below error is displayed

germany_AB_TETRA1.jpg

Environment

 • SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.1 (issue could also affect 4.0 and multiple SP's)
 • Dashboard 4.1
 • Dashboard 4.0

Reproducing the IssueThere are multiple workflows that could reproduce similar results

 • the bug in SAP note 2062091
 • If you have changed your entitlement username and password in CMC > authentication > SAP and have not restarted the Dashboard Processing and Cache Servers

Cause

The issue is caused due to special character in the Password for BW Entitlement Account.

Resolution

 • If you have the bug in SAP note 2062091 then use a non special character password (and restart the Dashboard Processing and Cache Servers after changing it)
 • If you have made recent changes to the BW entitlement account or password then restart the Dashboard Processing and Cache Servers so it uses the most current info.
 • If restarting the Dashboard Processing and Cache Servers does not resolve you may find it necessary to recreate the Dashboard Processing and Cache Servers.

Hi Nikil,

Have you tried the below Notes:

1905673 - "Request processing failed. (XLS 000009 )" while adding a BICS connection in Dashboard Que...

Symptom

 • "Request processing failed. (XLS 000009 )" happened while adding a BICS connection in Dashboard Query Browser
 • Error detail: [[error.openSapBwBrowsingSessionFailed] 0] <com.sap.sl.olap.impl.ConnectionSpecificationImpl@xxx, networkLayerType: SAP_BW_BICS, providerType: SAP_BWxx, server: null, catalogName: null, cubeName: null, language: en_US)>,<Unsupported AuthenticationMode: CredentialsPrompt>

Environment

 • Business Intelligence Platform 4.0 Support Package 04 or above (BI4 SP4)
 • Dashboard Designer 4.0 SP4 or above

Reproducing the Issue

 1. Logon CMC.
 2. Navigate to OLAP Connections.
 3. Click on the New Connection icon, enter the required information, set authentication type toPrompt and save the connection.
 4. Quit CMC.
 5. Open Dashboard Designer.
 6. Click Query Browser.
 7. Select the connection create in step3.

Cause

 • This behaviour is by-design. OLAP connection created via the CMC with Prompt authentication mode is not supported.
 • And a query must be selected in the OLAP Connection.

Resolution

 • Set the Authentication type to Predifined and enter logon information, or set it to SSO. And select a query into the connection.

Hi nikil.

Please look at the figure.

Go to CMC->olap connection->select connection->right click->edit.

Try this.

Thanks,
