Unable to make DC 541 movement for the sub contracting PO which is linked to sales order in MTO Process

Hi Team,

Greetings of the day..

we have implemented the MTO process for one of our plant. so here we are having the much more sub contracting operations.

so through MRP PO we will make the DC and do the GRN against that sub contracting MRP PO which is linked to sales order

but the PO is linked to sales order hence it is a Individual requirement.if the PO is linked to sales order system is not allowing to make the DC 541

movement this is standard behaviour of the MTO which is not supporting in standard i.e. 541 with special stock is not possible

so please suggest any other process to achieve this requirement

Special stock "E" is not supported with Movement type 541 in Standard. You can normally perform Transfer posting using 541 Movement type.

You have to perform Transfer Posting from Storage location to Storage location with 311 E Movement type. You will then have two options. You can tell system to consume the stock from Stock provided to Vendor or from Special stock (lying at Storage location).

Please ensure that for the Subcontracting Components, Individual / Collective Requirement must be set with Blank or “1” in Material Master MRP4 View so that during Subcontracting GRN, the components gets consumed from Sales Order Stock. If you set the indicator in any other way, then the Components will be consumed from Stock provided to Vendor

Hi Ashok,

we are in to SEZ(Special economic zone) plant hence we have to send the part number with reference of DC(Delivery Chalan) to the subcontracting vendor..

we are maintaining all the masters and working fine..

but my intention and interest if the scenario is MTO any where we are using special stock E but why in sub contracting situation system is not allowing to consume the special stock for the 541 movement

Standard SAP does not support Special Stock E (Sales Order) and Q (Project Stock) with 541 Movement type.

So, if you want the Stock to be consumed from the special stock during Subcontracting GRN, you have to perform 311 E Storage location to Storage location transfer (If required, you may create the separate storage location for this purpose).

If the Material is Excisable,you need to create a Subcontracting Chalan with reference to 311 E Material document. Movement type must be maintained in the Subcontracting Movement type groups.

Depending on the Individual / Collective Indicator in Material Master ( for Component) MRP4 View, system consumes the Stock during Subcontracting GRN for the Components.

If the indicator is set to "2" then the Stock will be consumed from the Stock provided to Vendor. If it is set it in any other way i.e.. Blank or "1" then the stock will get consumed from the Special Stock (transferred with 311E)

You can take the decision as per your business need. If you want the stock to be consumed from Subcontracting stock, you can normally use MB1B / MIGO / ME2O 541 Movement type with out Special stock.

Thanks for your update..

same i was suggested to user. the below points i have suggested

1. Change the collective requirement in PO

2.Transfer the stock from sales order to unrestricted using 411 with E movement

3.Do the 541 by consuming the normal stock

4.Do the GRN against PO then your parent stock will come to your premises with 101 E movement then 543 will happen for child component

everything is working fine

but they are not interested to transfer from sales order stock to unrestricted stock

hence i have posted in SDN for seniors suggestions

This looks standard design of the system to me, you should use collective indicator for your child components.
