Master data locking issue

Hi all,

I have gone through the following discussions

Here employees are having the provision only for display of their records. cannot edit/add any of their data. But still if employee open their personal information, PA30 is getting locked. Is there any solution to avoid this. Instead of accessing PA30, can't the ESS take data from PA20.

Is there any SAP notes regarding this issue.

Hi Namsheed,

The solution for your problem depends on technology you use for ESS personnel data maintenace. There are 2 options: WD Java or WD Abap.

For ABAP case it is easier: There is a note 2134287, which is a KB article actually.

If you use WD Java (which is old technology) I know a workaround only - to use end user's report HFIUCPL0 for unlocking employees. Possibly there are other options which I don't know, e.g. via custom development enhancements.

Also recently SAP released one interesting feature: note 2110196, but its purely for backend users.

Thanks for the information.

We are using WD ABAP and NWBC Portal for ESS/MSS. When I try to see the note which you have shared, I could see only this :

There was a typo error.  The note I was referring to is 2134187
