SAP Solution Manager 7.1 Support Release 1 Installation ERROR with SQL Agent

Dear Masters,

Request for HELP.   

An error occurred while processing option SAP Solution Manager 7.1 Support Release 1 > SAP Systems > MS SQL Server > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step: Error 1057 (The account name is invalid or does not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified. ) in execution of a 'StartService' function, line (1232), with parameter (SqlAgent$SQLEXPRESS).). You can now:

  • Choose Retry
    to repeat the current step.
  • Choose Log Files
    to get more information about the error.
  • Stop the option and continue later.

Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/SOLMAN71/SYSTEM/MSS/CENTRAL/AS.

OS : Windows Server 2012 R2 Data Center (64 Bit)

DB : Microsoft SQL Server 2012 ( SQLEXPR_x64_ENU)

Hi Eswar,

Please check and update which user account is maintained in logon for below mentioned services

SQL Server Agent , SQL Server , SQL Server VSS Writer.

I am using "Local System" account for all services.

( I mean same user name and password & that user is owner and admin rights )

All supported SQL Server versions are tested by SAP in the Enterprise Edition only. Therefore, only the Enterprise Edition is supported.

Please try this

goto services.msc check database service and user credentials for that service.


Change the user credentials and try as shown in figure below.

Hi ,

R u using Windows server for instillation ?

If yes , open the services.msc and retype in the password for the account. Then try and start the service again.

Which version of SQL server have you installed on the system?
