Definitely there would be link for this. But just explain the steps upgrade starts in D systems (or maybe in sandbox if you want to do warm-up it depends)
- Basis starts the upgrade then possibly do SPDD
- Or in many cases ask development team to do SPDD
- After SPDD basis continue with upgrade and release system for SPAU
- Development team carries out and finishes the SPAU activitiy
- Once SPAU is done development team ask functional guys to test the critical and daily used functions or transactions
- Here functional make customizing fixes and developer makes developments related fixes
- Next phase user test starts, again step 6 is carried out when and as required
- Once all fixes are confirmed
Q Is copied from P and Q system goes in upgrade
Q System is upgraded here all the fixes from D upgrade is moved via TR,
then additional fixes are made in D if any additional bugs are found in functional and user test on Q
Later cut-over plan is made and P is upgraded
So basically functional's role is to test and confirm system and process works as expected after upgrade.
