BPC 10.1 Journal Entries

Hi all,

I'm having what I think is likely a misunderstanding of the concept or use of options regarding the journal entry template and/or options within an individual journal entry. Hoping someone can clarify.

We've built a Consolidation model and are attempting to make a journal entry using the multiple values option (multiple entities) and we're attempting to make it across 3 entities at once (as shown in the screenshot below). We've ensured that by entity that the debit and credits balance, however are still hitting an error.

Also as an aside in the screenshot below the columns for entities will only show the ID, I tried playing with the settings to get it to display id and description but couldn't find a way for that either.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Jay,

Journal does allow to post Blank cells. Instead of leave the cells blank, you need to input "0" to the data field then post them as below.

And, for the showing description request, current no such option. Please raise an enhancement request to SAP idea place to ask BPC developer to add this functionality. About how to raise an enhancement request, please refer to note:1515837.

Additional:

For the showing description request, I found this function is already added in BPC NW10.0 according to note: 2083973. Not sure whether it is added in 10.1 or not. You can try this note in your 10.1 system to check whether it works or not. If not, then raise the enhancement request to idea place please.

Best Regards,

Thank-you so much, such a simple little item and it worked perfectly.

Much appreciated.

As for the note, I will look into that now.

Thanks.

Unfortunately this note does not apply to 10.1 and it is not native in 10.1, so I took your advice and placed it as an idea.

Again, thank-you very much!
