Company code master data not visible when displayed

Former Member

Hi experts,

There are 2 options for viewing data via info-provider (master data), one is display data and other is maintain master data.

My scenario : I have standard company code info-object as a info-provider which gets data loaded from 2 datasources and they are 0comp_text & zcompcode(flat file loading) and I have loaded data successfully from both the datasources.

Now here's my issue : While maintaining master data I am able to see the data in the info-provider (0comp_code), But while using the option displat data in the same info-provider, I am not able to see the data loaded from zcompcode(flat file loading).

Can anyone please let me know what needs to be done to make it visible in display data.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Foram

Hello Guys,

Thanks a lot for your reply and concerns.

The solution to the above mentioned problem is we need to maintain those company codes coming from flat-file in company code attributes as well, Only after which the desired data will be displayed my company-code Info-provider.

Still not clear on why one need to maintain attributes as well, As the requirement is just for Company-code (flat-file) text display.

Hi,

When we load master data from two data sources, latest data (source) will overwrite the old data if we loaded same comp codes(same technical names of comp code) from two sources.

Actually from comp code, what data you need? only text? then you don't load attribute data.

Just load text data only to info object from respective data source.

Thanks

Hello,

Technical name of Company-codes differs when coming data from standard datasource and Customized datasource (Flat-file datasource).

Hi,

Previously I have loaded only text to the infoprovider, But it didn't worked. After loading attributes data related to same Company-codes it worked perfectly.

if comp codes are different then text data won't be filled which are not loaded thru text data source.

that comp code text will be blank.

If your issue was solved then please make thread as answered by choosing correct or assumed answer.

Hi,

Thru flat file what data you loaded? text or attributes?

Rather than above two options, You can see the master data directly at table levels.

Use table Name -  /BI0/P<info object > for standard info object,

/BIC/P<Info object> for custom info object.

Have you run attribute change before checking data?

if not then please run attribute change run and later see the table data.

Thanks

Hi Ramanjaneyulu Korrapati

2 datasources and they are 0comp_text & zcompcode(flat file loading)

with this information, I assumed Foram is looking for Text Data loaded.

Thanks,

Hi Uma,

He loaded text from standard data source and that text is visible.

Custom data source Zcompcode - not sure whether this is text or attr data source.

so we need to hear from sha.

One more thing, if he loaded attr data from custom data source then he need to use same comp code(which he loaded froms tandard data source) thru flat file other wise data will won't be appear in on line along with text.

Thanks

Hi Foram,

It is standard behavior, when you view data by 'Maintain Master Data' it shows data along with description(text information). When you view data by using 'Display Data', then only attributes are shown. See below screenshots.

1. Maintain Master Data

2. Display Data

Hope it helps you to arrive a conclusion.

Thanks,

Umashankar

Hi FORAM,

You have to apply an attribute change run for your infoObject 0comp_code, or simply right click on your infoObject and click on activate master data.

If this doesn't work, try deleteing master data for your infoObject (0comp_code) and load only data from your zcompcode datasource and try displaying only that to make sure that your datasource is  working correctly.

Hi Mohamed,

Thanks for your reply.

I have already applied attribute change run after loading data and also deleted all the data & reloaded, Still can't see data when displayed.

Please let me know if anything else I can do.

Hi Foram,

I'm understanding you want to see the texts.  Display Data only shows attributes. You can check the texts in transaction SE11, table /BI0/TCOMP_CODE.

If you find there your flat file texts then you'll be sure they've loaded correctly.

Hi Fernando,

Thanks for your reply.

Flat file Data is reflected correctly in table /BI0/TCOMP_CODE, But still cannot find the same when displayed data.

Please let me know if anything else we can do.

Hi Foram,

Right click on the 0COMP_CODE InfoObject, select "Display Data" and then select Company Code on the Key Part of "Fld Selectn for Output".  Execute and Execute the display data.

All the company codes you loaded should appear, including those coming from the flat file.  Select any of the cells of the 0comp_code column and click on the icon that appears on the right-side.

The InfoObject's attributes will show.  The "Medium Description" column will shows the texts for the object.

I hope this answers your question.

Best Regards,

Fernando
