Hi All,

Is it possible to display different columns by users in the same Webi report? For example, there are 5 columns in the Report A, user1 can see 3 columns in the report, but user2 can see 5 columns in it.

I have tried the following solutions but still can't fit the requirement.

- Conditional Column Hiding in BO 4.0

- Hide a column in Web Intelligence

- Personalization in SAP Business Intelligence 4.0 Web Intelligence Publications

- Object level security in a universe

Is anyone having the same issue?

Many thanks,

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

You can work with a low-level solution. I've done this before for one customer. You have to build a MS Access DB or a MS Excel Sheet where enter the user name according to the BO-User and a flag for visibility. In your webI-document you have to use the Sheet as a second source and you have to compare the user between the application and this source. Then you utilize a conditional formatting on the columns you want to hide under the condition of the flag.

This isn't a nice solution, but it works under the condition that the document-users are not able to edit the report.

A second possible solution is, that you build two tables. One with five columns and one with three columns. In your report the tables are overlapped. Then you use the addressed user-list for a foreign source and take it for the condition of the visibility of each table. The result is that the target user are only able to see what they should have to see.

Create two tables in the webi report and after that use conditional hiding.

Table1->Format table->Place your condition.

similar for second table.
