Unable to Add Standard ODATA Service on NetWeaver Gateway System

Hello Everyone,

We are configuring SAP Fiori Factsheet application 'Service Entry Sheet'. See this link for details.

But when I am trying to add service 'CB_SERVICE_ENTRY_SHEET_SRV' on the gateway system gateway is throwing error 'assign model first' see below screenshot:

All required components are there in the landscape and search connectors are active.

I will appreciate any help in solving in this.

Hi Rauf,

Issue is with your search connectors. Kindly double check if the connectors are active.

Hi Tejas,

Thank you for replying. But I have created all required search connector one by one. see below image

After creating I have indexed those connectors also. Still not able to solve the issue . Have you configured any factsheet application? didn't you get this problem?

Are all the search connectors active, as per the app reference library screenshot. All connectors need to be active, the one which are not related to your app are also required. If not, re-import and check the logs :

In the connector admin cockpit, Click on Modeler.

Next screen should show you "Modeler for Search and Analytics". choose SAPAPPLH.

Choose Actions ->Import Log. A background job will be triggered.

Go to SM37, model job update name is : ESH_IEF_IMP_OM_UPDATE_CONTENT<your client>,

Make sure, job is finished and there is no error. It should be green.

Alternatively, to check import status without triggering the model update job, use SE16 to open table ESH_OM_IE_IMPLOG, set the import status to ERROR, and then see how many entries are available.

Hi Rauf,

I believe Search Model is not assigned or authorized. Please check your configurations once again according to the implementation document.

Hi Nagesh,

Thank you for your response. As listed in the configuration steps I have created all required search model on "ESH_COCKPIT". All are having "Active" status now...Granted required roles to user..what else I need to do to assign Search Model?

Hi Rauf,

I could not find much information about this. However, Please see if you have also followed the approach in Configuration of SAP Fiori Infrastructure - SAP Fiori for SAP Business Suite - SAP Library

If this is the first app that you are configuring, please double check your configurations.

Quick Steps:

1. Configure Enterprise search in the back end

2. Activate Search and Factsheet in the SAP Business Suite Foundation

3. Service to be active:

Transaction: SICF Execute - 7 services here:

Under the path      ----- /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/

•Esh_eng_modeling

•Esh_eng_wizard

•Esh_search_results_ui

•Wdhc_help_center

Under the path     -----  /default_host/sap/es/

•Cockpit

•Saplink

•Search

Also check if your System Alias is setup properly. Activate and Maintain Services - SAP NetWeaver Gateway - SAP Library

Hi Nagesh,

Thank you for your valued response. I have activated all SICF nodes required. 'Maintenance Plan' factsheet application is running fine . Only some ODATA services giving error 'assign model first' while adding service on Gateway system.

I have indexed all search connectors as well.

Can you guess what else is wrong?

Hi Rauf,

I was pretty much confident that those steps should solve , Please take a look at the RIN to see if you have all the components installed.

Also check:

Some of the steps which I found are :

You can check it in SPRO > SAP Netweaver > Gateway service enablement > Backend OData channel > Service development for backend odata channel > Maintain service

Once you pass the technical service name and version, the next screen will show the service information and model information. Please check if model information section is filled or not.

If the model is not assigned, click on Assign Model and you will be able to assign the model to your.

Hi Nagesh,

I really appreciate your efforts in helping me in this.

I checked in the SPRO transaction. The service 'CB_SERVICE_ENTRY_SHEET_SRV' is already having a model assigned. I don't why gateway is asking to assign model first
