Characteristic Fiscal Year has no master data for "V62016"

Hi All,

I am trying to run a report through Query designer.I run the report, put filters in the report on Fiscal Year field (V6/2016, V6/2017) and create a bookmark from it. When I execute the bookmark, it is giving me error 'Characteristic Fiscal Year has no master data for "V62016" '. However when I try to so same thing for Fiscal Year value V6/2015 , it is running successfully. Please help me out regarding the same .

Hi Abhi,

We are at mid of 2015 only. Have you maintained fiscalyear data for 2016 and have entries for 2016? Have you maintained Variant V6 for fiscal period of 2016?

please check tables T009 and T009B at ECC and BW side.

those tables need to have same entries from two servers. if not have then please do transfer global settings to update fiscalyear and variants.

Hello Ram,

Thanks for your response. The problem here is that when I try to run report wide open for all FYs then it shows warning message 'Characteristic Fiscal Year has no master data for "V62016" '.

In the same report if try to specifically apply filter for Fiscal Year value V6/2015  then it running successfully without warning message.

Another strange part is, there are default drills in the report and If I remove any of them it works without warning message

I have already tried below aspects with no luck

- Transfer global setting did not help

- Checked if there are any junk records in the Cube for FY15 & 16 and did not find any

- T00* tables have relevant records

Can you please check the oss note 1149556. it might be old but useful.

other wise look for latest oss note at SAP market place.

Actually why your filtering V62016 data only?

if you have planned data then you can see 2016 data as well if maintained.

Other wise we won't have actual data as per the present year. Because we are still 2015 only.

Please check your info object fiscalyear - whether its have 2016 entries or not?

Tx - OB59, check Fiscal variant for 2016 is maintained or not.

There is Fiscal Year 15, 16 & 17 maintained in the system. The problem here is that when I try to run report wide open for all FYs then it shows warning message 'Characteristic Fiscal Year has no master data for "V62016" '.

From this its evident that there is something avoiding the data to be displayed, I have opened a SAP message and I will keep you informed about the potential solution in case of any

If you need further assistance from us, please share more details:

• How do you filter (global filter, restricted key figure, etc.);
• Some screenshots will help to understand the issue better;
• Share the full warning message (incl. message class and message number);
• Which front-end tool are you using (does it also give the warning with t/code RSRT);
• System details (i.e. release and SP level).

Here is the problem statement with series of steps

System SAP BW 730 SP007

Step 1: I am running a BW report wide open in Query Designer for Fiscal Year Period with only handful restrictions on certain Chars and hit Execute

Step 2: Open report execution I get the following error message

Step 3: There are certain defaults fields in Rows and if I remove any one of them then report output gets displayed

Step 4: To ensure if there is FY 16 and 17 data I apply filter on the field Fiscal Year Period from Free Chars and see report output

Hi Abhishek,

I don't know how the global filter (i.e. Characteristic Restrictions on the first tab page) looks like. I suggest to include Fiscal Year Variant 'V6' and also the Fiscal Years (can be via an input variable). Do those warnings then still occur?

Re. the warning message "Characteristic Fiscal Year has no Master Data for "V62016", can you please run the BEx Query using t/code RSRT and give information on the Message Class and Message Number?

I have run the report in RSRT and dont see the issue replicating there, I am also in process of trying out different combinations in query designer which might be causing this issue. I will keep you updated

In short you need to set "F4 Help and Hierarchies for Time Characteristics/OLAP Settings" in SPRO or in transaction RSRHIERARCHYVIRT.
