Will HANA Live no longer receive updates?

Hi All,

I have heard that HANA Live will no longer be receiving updates from SAP.

So my question is whether this is true and, if so, when is SAP looking to stop supporting HANA Live.

Please let me know. Thank you.

SAP HANA Live will continue to be supported as an important native capability of the SAP HANA platform. In fact, new data models for SAP HANA Live were released in April 2015, and the next release is planned for Q1/2016. For the latest release notes covering SAP HANA Live, go to
the SAP Help Portal site at

With SAP S/4HANA we have decided to introduce a new concept of virtual Data Models using Core Data Services (open CDS). This is mainly to support context-driven embedded BI capabilities which require a strong ABAP integration.

Existing content in SAP HANA Live will remain valid with no changes required – until a customer decides, whenever it chooses, to move to SAP S/4HANA. At that time, customers can make use of the new simplified ERP data model by activating the SAP S/4HANA foundation-promotion license. It is possible to either modify existing SAP HANA Live models to the new data structures of S/4HANA as well as migrated to the new technology using Core Data Services.
