Payroll - Salary Packaging

Hi Sap Experts,

I am learning payroll, soon gonna start supporting for India which will be a support project completely for payroll.. I am going through all the Gross,Net part, Deduction part ,

But i would like to understand the salary packaging in the payroll part,

What is it and why and how is it in Used in Indian Payroll, If any one throws some light with an example on it.. it would be really great , so i understand the functionality of the salary packaging.
