Dear SAP BW experts,

I need your advice about this critical point,

Does data extraction from SAP ERP to SAP BW InfoProviders(DSO or InfoCubes) ,affects on SAP BW performance?

i need your recommendations.

Hi,

it won't impact on any performance issue unless.

lets say example will create the query on cube but query executing time taking we need to create the aggregates and BIA.

it will improve the performance.

in BW system it self required the more processer (SM51)

while extracting data form ERP to BW you will create the generic data source based on the function module - it will improve the performance.

Hi,

Of course extraction and loading will require system resources. Best practice is to execute extraction and loading during a time window with minimum or no user activity, i.e. during the evening and at night. It is even possible to switch operation mode (i.e. exchange dialog processes for background processes). This way the performance impact for business users will be reduced or eliminated.
