Asset depreciation Key change

Former Member

Hi Experts,

We have purchase an asset (f-90 for Rs.10 Lcs) in june and run the depreciation but in july we found that amount booked wrongly (should be Rs1lac), so reversed the vendor invoice (FB08) and changed the dep key to 0000 repeat run AFAB which makes asset value "0". In July we have booked the invoice once again for 1 lac with proper dep keys and dep start date as june 1, system shows dep asset planning value correctly for june and july combined in the month of july (AW01N),.  When we are running the AFAB for the month of July system giving the message "Last Posting Run terminated (Restart in period 2015 6".

Why the system is giving the above error message and how to run AFAB without opening the Period 6.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Unless you run the depreciation in restart mode, you cannot run the depreciation for further periods.

Hi,

Have you checked the depreciation posting for the period in 6? and also check the status in the table TABA for the period 6. Here you have to check the Poind column, it should be "X". Otherwise your last posting run is not successful. The error itself saying, you have to run the depreciation for period 6, in restart mode. So do it accordingly.

Hi Mukthar,

We have successfully run the depreciation for the 6th period.  In Taba table period 6 is having the below values.

6166X
62771

for period 6 we have two values "X" and "1".

Hi,

In the second run for the period 6, it is showing 1. So you have to restart the run once again.
