Global constants in IdM 8.0

Hi,

Any idea what happened to Global Constants with IdM 8.0?  Are they still hidden away somewhere or have they been swapped out for package constants?  I've imported the HCM package and am getting the following warning:

Global constant $glb.SAP_MASTER_IDS_ID has been migrated as a package constant. It should be consumed as $pck.SAP_MASTER_IDS_ID

Before I update the IdS constant in the 'WriteHCM Employee to SAP Master' pass I wanted to confirm that global constant don't exist any more.

Also the installation guides still refers to global constants when testing the initial loads.

Any info would be appreciated!

Hi Pat,

this is true, there is no blobal constants anymore. If you need to consume constants in other packages you need to get the value of the constant via public script.

I think there might be cases where things have to be redesigned between 7.x and 8.0, for example if you youse constants in constants - those you cannot easily consume from outside the package anymore.
