Tax Depreciation

Hi Experts,

Since go-live, a country  Chart of Depreciation was missing tax depreciation in AUC asset classes. Due to this when the AUC asset was settled to Fixed Asset then those fixed assets also missed Tax Depreciation Acquisition values and Depreciation value.  Later  fixed the AUC asset class now which is allowing correct posting of tax depreciation area for newly created AUCs and in turn Fixed Assets.

In order to fix the old assets for which tax acquistion values and depreciation values are missing a solution is required. User can post unplanned manual tax depreciation using standard transaction but  when unplanned tax deprciation is posted then it also post IFRS and GAAP depreciation.

Kindly suggest the best possible solution for this issue.

Hi Ramesan,

You can add tax depreciation area existing AUC assets using the t.code AFBN. Here system will add depreciation area which does not exist. However, first you run this code in test run and check the results. If it is OK, then go ahead in production mode.

Hi Mukthar,

Final assets are now having tax dep area. ( some other teams worked on it before). I have run AFBN in test system ( production copy) but no assets selected.   Now the question is how to fill values in tax depr are of final assets that are blank now.

Hi,

Then at time of execution they have selected the check box "Leave Values initial", due to this it has updated with 0. Here you have to post the values manually to the tax depreciation by create a new transaction type with reference to standard transaction type and limit the transaction type to the tax depreciation area only.
