Is there any licence implication in activating SOA Manager services (web services)

Hi all,

One of my client works on SAP ECC 6.0 and they planned to implement Vendor portal. They require integration with SAP with real time updates. Hence we suggested to use web services (through SOA manager services). Is there any License implication by doing so? Do they need to purchase any extra license for that?

Broad scope of the Project:

1. Data will be flown out of SAP to the vendor portal.

2. At some point of time data will flow in from portal to SAP and run some standard transactions to post few records.

3. Then this document number will be pushed back to the vendor portal

Kindly suggest me whether they need to go for extra license?

Regards,

Praveen

Hi Praveen

I would not say that they need an extra license for the pure activation of web services as this functionality is already part of the business suite, but they need to know that, as far as I can imagine your infrastructure, all users logged in the portal (and SSO to backend) will be charged (sometimes customers make agreement with sap considering this type of users "light" ...)

The licensing mechanism is always been not 100% clear so, keep always in mind to recommend your customer a double check with their sap point of contact
