Depreciation area 5 years - 7 years

Former Member

Dear all,

I have a doubt about depreciation areas. In my case two depreciation areas in a fixed asset.

  • Depreciation area '01' - use life 5 years - begin 01.01.2013
  • Depreciation area '04' - use life 7 years - begin 01.01.2015

The problema is that depreciation ara '01' Works since 2013 and depreciation area '04' Works since 2015 (new).

I would like to get the attached table (please see attached file), but with my configuration is not posible. Depreciation area '04' is not working well.

I use a depreciation key with straight-line depreciation and base method with type of depreciation 'N' and Depreciation method 'D'.

All it is working when the fixed asset is new (created in 2015) but I have problems when the fixed asset is old (created before 2015).

Could anybody with this similar situation help me, please?

Thanks a lot for your collaboration.

Kind Regards.

Ana.

Hi Ana,

Check the validity start maintained in the multi level method of the depreciation key, it should be 2 i.e.from ordinary depreciation start date.

Hi Mukthar,

I have tried with multi level method but it is not working well.

Fiscal Year   Acquisition value  Ordinary deprec.        Net book value

2013             2472,9                       494,58- (20%)             1978,32

2014             2472,9                       494,58-                    1483,73

2015             2472,9                       370,94- (incorrect)     1112,80

2016             2472,9                      370,94-                      741,86

2017             2472,9                       370,94-                       370,92

2018             2472,9                       370,92-

2019             2472,9

With multi level method in 2015 year I don't get the correct Ordinary depreciation

370,94 ( = 2472,9 * 15 / 100 ). I would like to get 318,40 ( = 1483,73 * 21,45 /100).

But 21,45% depends on Year of Acquisition

2012 will be 27,32 %

2013 will be 21,45 %

2014 will be 18,18 %

2015 will be 15%

My multi-level method works

Acq.year  Year    Per   Percent Rem life   Reduct.

9999         1        12     20%

9999          999    12    15%

Do you know how I can do it with all those condicions ( 27,32%, 21,45%, 18,18%,...) ?

Thanks for your kind collaboration.

Ana.

Hi Ana,

You want to calculate depreciation with different rates for various years. If yes, then maintain the multi level method as shown below.

cq.year  Year    Per   Percent Rem life   Reduct.

9999         1        12     20%

9999         2        12     27.32

9999         3         12     21.45

9999         4          12     18.18

9999       999                 15%

Hi Mukthar,

I have solved the problem with multilevel method

This is for acquisitions in 2013.

Acq. Year

9999           1               12    24        20%

9999           2               12    24        25%

9999           3               12    24        33,33%

9999           4                12   24        50,00%

9999            9999         12   24        100,00%

Do you know if it is posible to have a depreciation key with more than two Multilevel methods?

Thanks.

Regards.

Ana.

Hi Ana,

You can use only one multi level method for each of the dep.key. You cannot use multiple multi level methods, instead you can create a change over method for the existing dep.key and create another depreciation key and assign the multi level method for it.

Mukthar
