Sap Error SV 117 for Exclusive Indicator in Access Sequence

Former Member

Hi ALL

I am adding a table for an existing access sequence. The table is 73, a standard table from SAP, however when  I try to thick the exclusive indicator I got  error message.

Message no. SV117

Diagnosis

You have changed an entry which, according to the name space definition is managed by SAP.

System Response

Your changes may be overwritten at each subsequent upgrade or release change.

Procedure

Avoid changing this data. If the change is inavoidable, document it carefully, so that it can be repeated, if necessary, after an upgrade or release change. The best way to do this is to put the data in a change request, which you can export before an upgrade or release change, and import again afterwards.

Just keep pressing enter whenever the message appears.

As Suggested by SAP this should not be performed, but some requirements cannot be avoided

It is very strange to get this message taken into account that this indicator should be set. This indicator determines that should a condition record is sucessfully found, the system is to stop searching for further condition records.

Please your feedback is very much appreciatte.

Regards

Berta

Hi Berta.

I suppose the issue is because you are dealing with a standard access sequence (rather than a standard condition table).

I would suggest to simply copy the standard access sequence to a Z**** access sequence and still use the 73 condition table.

You shouldn't get this message with the Exclusive indicator (i don't have access currently to Sap to have a try but this is my guess).

...then assign the Z*** access sequence to the condition types.

Regards.

Hi,

well, this is "standard behaviour". You try to change an entry owned by SAP and therefore, you get this message.

Even if it might be useful or even necessary to set this flag in your particular case, as it is not set in standard (for whatever reason) you are getting this message.

The point is: if SAP changes this entry in an upcoming release, your setting will be overwritten as soon as you apply this release. Then, you have to reset the flag again to get your processes working.

If it is likely that SAP changes something like that, I think nobody can answer.

So, you can try to open a message to SAP Support regarding the issue, but (from my point of view), it is very, very unlikely, that the standard entry will be changed.

Tobias

Hi David

You are right.

I did  a test copying  a new access sequence Z and then adding the table 73, thick the exclusive indicator and it worked. I did not get the message Sv117.

Many thanks.
