UPLOAD_XLS_FILE_2_ITAB error while opening the file

Hi I am using UPLOAD_XLS_FILE_2_ITAB  and uploading ecel file data to internal tabl;e. however i am getting sy-subrc = 1 and error as " ERROR while opening file "

Please help what is wrong in this situation

Can you try to use this FM --> ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE.

Check if you have not opened the file in your PC while running the program.

No I have not opened the file. one more point, on remote desktop there is no MS Ecel, but file is present with ".xls". so will it be problem when uploading the file

Yes. that can cause issue. Ask somebody to try locally not via remote desktop.
