Hi Experts,
My client want to change the department of one employee from "X" to "Y", position remaining the same.
Please guide me how to do it.
Secondly they want to change the nomenclature (name) of one department, how to do it.
Thanks & Regards
Swarna
Hi,
Postion is going to transfer to another department. Am i correct?
So for that you will create new relationship with Postion & new organizational unit in the P013 effective date onwards.
Once you will create this in IT0001 will create an another record from that effective date with new Org Unit & Postion relationship.

Hi Swarna,
You can do it through PP01, choose the position of the employee, choose 1001 IT relationship infotype, click on overview , choose the current org unit and click on copy button give the new date and end date as 31.12.9999 and click and save.. system will automatically delimit the old one before the date you created the new one.
To change the name you can go to pp01 again . choose 1000 IT object, delimit the old object with old name and give the new name with new start date..
Thanks
Sriram

Hi,
To move position to new org unit:
Go to PP01 >> Object type "Organizartion unit">> Relation ship>>Dlimit the relationship with position
Take the new orgunit>>ralationship>> create a new relatioship with the position.
Goto description >> change the name.

Hi Swarna,
Do you mean department as in org unit change ? If yes, first check if you have any action configured in your system as a contractual change.
It is always advisable to run an action to change Infotype 0001 data hence run contractual change and create a new record in IT0001 to get new org unit for the empployee effective from the desired date.
Hope this helps - If you any other concerns, please mention in detail.
