Summary of historical activity levels: most popular T-Codes and sub-modules for our users?

Hello, I've posted this in Business Warehouse, but a moderator suggested posting it here also.

We are doing a comprehensive review of our financial ERP systems and how we use SAP. My assignment is to prioritize a list of sub-modules and T-codes for review, and I am to prioritize these based on user activity. I will be conducting a user survey, but I need to support it with back-end analysis. How can I view data on:

  • Which sub-modules of FI have the heaviest user activity?
  • Which T-Codes are run most frequently, and by whom?
  • Which sub-modules and T-Codes have the most diverse user activity? (Highest number of distinct regular users)

I am not very familliar with Solution Manager, but the moderator mentioned standard Earlywatch reports. I will appreciate any further information about how to pursue this data. I have a lot to learn about SAP, so I am always open to additional research/reading if you can point me in a good direction for this question.

Thank you

Hi Leslie,

There is a new and wonderful concept of UPL(usage and procedure logging) being introduced which captures all the user activities on a system.

Example which transaction of FI being used and no. of times

This is utilized by Solman to check and build report based upon the usage of data eg

RBPD (reverse business process doc) means you can document whole solution which is live in erp/crm etc

automatic blueprint generation(component based)

hope this clarifies the concept of UPL and how it can help you to achieve what you want to do.

Thanks

Prakhar

Thank you, Prakhar. I am reviewing the information you sent. UPL sounds very useful and I have shared this with my manager. I will follow up if there is a different need. I appreciate the input
