Hi, I am looking for a way to disable the ability to open and edit Webi's query panel (circled in the picture), but preserve the ability to edit saved reports. The intention is that users could open saved reports, and change as needed the columns used in the repor from those already available in the query. However I do not want to give them the ability to edit the query panel and delete columns that have been already chosen in the query or add new columns from the universe.
Thanks. Any pointers would be appreciated.
Hi Manuel,
Deny the Web Intelligence's right "Query script - enable editing (SQL , MDX,...)" to the corresponding users or groups.
This is done in CMC > Applications > Web Intelligence > User Security > select principal (user or group) > Assign Security > Advanced > Add/Remove Rights > Expand "Application" Menu > Select "Web Intelligence" > Scroll to the "Query script - enable editing (SQL , MDX,...)" right > Select the second option button under the red cross icon > OK
Please let me know whether you got the desired effect.
Regards,
Fernando

Hi Fernando, Thanks for the suggestion. After implementing it I noticed that the users indeed cannot check or change the actual SQL query that gets issued to the database. However they still can open the query panel (shown below) and add or remove columns from those previously selected. I need to prevent the users from using this panel, but still be able to edit the structure of the report. Any ideas?
