C4C-ECC Sales Order Integration for Prospects

We have a requirement to allow creation of free of charge sales orders for prospects to deliver sample products. The sales order is replicated from C4C to ECC. in C4C, the sales order will be created for the prospect account but when the order is ready to be replicated to ECC, the plan is to change the customer ID on the sales order to a one-time customer ID in the middleware so that the sales order processing can be carried out in ECC.

The problem we have is that (according to the C4C Admin guide) the Transfer button on the sales order is deactivated for prospects. See the following note on this page:

If an account is flagged as a prospect, then sales order creation will still be possible for the account. However, a prospect account cannot be transferred to SAP ERP system. Therefore, though Simulate is enabled, the action Transfer is disabled for prospect accounts.

This paragraph is rather ambiguous. However the last part of it states that Transfer is not enabled for prospects.

So my questions:

  1. Has anyone come across this scenario before? How was it handled?
  2. What is the exact logic behind the enabling of Transfer button? The Admin guide page on Transfer states that it is based on the Pricing Status being set "Calculated Successfully". However pricing simulation could still be successfully done for a prospect so I am wondering if there is some additional logic as well that activates the Transfer button.

I'll appreciate any inputs on this.
