Planning level of key figure used as indirect input for supply planning

Hi all,

When you want to use calculated value for key figure used as input for supply planning, the entire calculation chain must be at the same planning level.

This implies that you cannot use currency or UOM conversion (which requires planning levels such as PERPRODCUSTUOM or PERPRODCUSTCURR) for key figures used as input for supply planning, or even used as indirect input.

It is also impossible to calculate using custom planning levels. For instance:

Consensus Demand @PERPRODCUST = SUM ( Consensus Demand per Distribution Channel @PERPRODCUSTCHANNEL )

A workaround would be to use a copy operator which replicates the desired value to key figure used as input for supply planning. But this solution makes the planning process more complex and doesn’t work in interactive mode.

Any recommendation in this regard would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Pierre

Hi Pierre,

We faced a similar challenge in 3.0.1.2 and used the copy operator to maintain calculations at the same level.

Can the batch operator make planner's life simpler?

Hi Aditya,

Thanks for your answer.

SAP also confirmed that this is not supported yet and using a copy operator is the only option for now.

Combining a copy operator and then a supply planning operator in a group operator (which only works in batch job) could make planner's life easier. The operation would be transparent to him.

But still, it is unfortunate to lose the interactive mode, which is one of the nice features of IBP.

Regards,

Pierre
