Products - UoM Characteristics

Something regarding UoM's in products/materials is not clear to me.

The import templates for materials have an optional sheet for UoM Characteristics, where you can import data about material weight, volume, width...

So I have imported some products with this data also.

Than when looking at the product screen, there is no section with this data. Also from adaptation mode, there are no sections or tabs that can be added for UoM Characteristics.

Is there some missing configuration? Because I cannot find anything in scoping regarding this. Also the documentation doesn't cover UoM Characteristics.

Thanks to anyone who already managed to add this and will be willing to share the solution!

Hi Borut,

I was checking the Migration Template for 1505, I don't see the UOM Characteristic tab, there is only UOM conversion. Can you attach some screenshot?.

Hi, this tabs are hidden in the template. Right click on one tab and choose "unhide".

Hi Borut,

UOM Characteristics, GTIN..etc are not needed currently. This is reused from By Design Template and hence these tabs, these are kept hidden so that user doesn't get confused. We will take a note of this and enhance the template appropriately in the future release.

Also to add this will give a validation error even if you add the UOM Characteristics.

thanks for the explanation. So where are we supposed to register this kind of information for products (weight, width, height...)?

P.s. I did not "hit" any validation error and uploaded successfully the file.

Hi Borut,

Currently in Product Master, the Product Attributes Information is not available. Do you have a use case to maintain the Product Attributes?.

Since the template was reused from ByD there tabs came along, this was kept hidden so that user don't maintain it.

Hi Bejoy,

the business case is this:

A business unit that sales tires or similar products, needs certain information about the products they are selling on the field like: Usage, Producer, Height, Weight, Inches, Fuel, Wet Grip, Noise etc.

I'm aware that some of those characteristics may need some custom fields, but for the "classic" characteristic I thought that some standard fields should exist.

Currently Product Master in C4C doesn't have Product Attributes support. Is there a Customer asking for this Requirement?
