Default site in order VA01

Hi all,

Can someone tell me where the site field (WERKS) is updated from when creating an order through VA01 and entering articles as given in below screenshot:

If it's from the article master data, then what makes the order choose one or another site when multiple sites exist in article master data?

Thanks for your help!

Alexis

    Hi Alexis,

Remove site from article master --> sales tab then click other sales data and from Delivering Plant filed.

      Hi Mohan,

Is there any other possibility? This field is not used at my client's company at all. Still sites are picked. And for article A it takes e.g. site 1000 when creating the order and for article B it takes e.g. site 2000. Eventhough for both articles both sites 1000 and 2000 exist. What does it take 1000 for one article and 2000 for the other? It is possible to manually change the sites in the order when creating, but I'd like to understand where is it taking the initial data from. Any other ideas?

      Thanks again,

      Alexis

    Hi,

to understand the logic, you can have a look at SAP Note 35413  - Delivering plant ignored for subitems

[Even if the note is made for subitems, the logic is the same for items]

The system is also checking against existing MARC entry for Article/Site combination (and in IS-Retail, also a check against listing entry in WLK1 should be done). That could be the reason, that it takes e.g. site 2000 for article B and site 1000 for article A.

If you need a different logic, check user exit USEREXIT_SOURCE_DETERMINATION

I think, a site is necessary for the process (delivery as - usually - next document needs a site).

    Regards

    Tobias
