Product Compliance on CE6.0 and SPRC 2.0

I'm afraid, but I have very basic question about Product Compliance. We can find Product Compliance application in both place CE6.0 and SPRC 2.0. Both application are design for discrete Manufacturers to support Environmental Compliance REACH - SVHC and RoSH  and managing IMDS Compliance

Question:  What is significant difference between these  Product Compliance ? Since access Product compliance are different in both the case.

If both Product Compliance application is having same objective to cater compliance requirement for discrete Manufactures why they are available in different place and which one should we suggest clients?

Hi,

SPRC 2.0 is a predecessor of the EH&S Management Add-On. Also, its focus at the time were primarily the Process Industry requirements around REACH.

For Discrete Industries clients, the EH&S Management Add-On, potentially tied into SAP Product Stewardship Network, should be positioned.

If we want to conclude, Shall we say that -  "Process Industry compliance requirement get address by SPRC2.0 and Discrete Industries should go for EHSM CE.6.0 to fulfill there Compliance requirements"

It would be great if you can share/ suggest any SAP document / Link  where we can do apple to apple comparison between two.

Hi,

if you want to conclude - anyone, both Process and Discrete, should go with latest EHSM Add-On to fulfill the product compliance requirements.

As said, SPRC 2.0 is a predecessor. It was in GA 16.08.2010. It should NOT be implemented. There is no apple to apple comparison needed.

Dear all

only small add on:

the term "SPRC 2.0 is a predecessor of the EH&S Management Add-On" is not a good one.

The "Component Extension of SAP EHS MAnagement " can not ! take care all of the many processes existing in SPRC 2.0; only some aspects have been transferred from one solution to the other. Currently i would assume that no additional transfer is planned. as SAP will concentrate on S/4 HANA roadmap.

On the top: the "Component Extension" is based on completely different data model, Userinterface etc.

With version 6.0 once again some redesign has been done and thes solution can now support on top processes (and therefore the old SAP solutions can be removed/transferred to new solution)
