Connectivity between SAP PI and CIFS

I have a requirement to connect ECC  -->  SAP PI --> CIFS.

CIFS team shared Hostname, username and password.

will FTP adapter work for this scenario? if not what need to be used.

I have seen few blogs saying that to share their directory? if my understanding was correct, how do i need to process this.....

can any one explain me to complete my configuration.

Hi,

You can contact your BASIS team to mount CIFS on your PI Application Server same as NFS and if mounting is already done then you can use it with NFS.

If i mount CIFS on my PI application server(sharing folder). Can i use receiver file adapter using NFS? if yes, then how the connectivity gets established from PI server to CIFS?

How are we going to login that CIFS system?

Can i use FTP directly to connect ECC system from PI the directory which are maintained in AL11 directory.

Yes you can use FTP mechanism to connect to ECC system for pulling/pushing the files in ECC application server.
