Processing Sales Orders

Interested in hearing how most companies are processing sales orders in SAP.  Are you entering them manually or are most companies now mostly automated?

Not sure such statistics would be any more helpful than average body temperature in a hospital...

EDI, for example, existed before SAP and orders were processed automatically even in the old mainframe systems. Every company is different. If there is a large volume of orders and they are relatively simple then naturally a company would implement some automation. But if volume is low and/or orders are fairly complex (e.g. in case of VC) then they would be likely entered manually.

HI Jaxi

This depends upon various factors, example:

Volume of sales orders from customers that is if volume is high hen it's good to have automation.

Volume of sales order is more from one customer and rest is small then it makes sense to have automatically for this individual customer.

Depends upon sales order type also. Example if working with forecast delivery scheduling agreements then makes sense to go for automation but depending upon volume.

I Hope it helps.
